South Fulton advances at LTC; Bombers, Rockets bow out

Illini Bluffs 53, Macomb 40

BEARDSTOWN — The Bombers fell short of reaching the final day of the Beardstown Lady Tiger Classic, falling to Illini Bluff 53-40.

Macomb ended its stay in Beardstown, going 2-2 over the three-day run.

Macomb trailed 10-9 after a quarter and 22-21 at half.

The second half would belong to Bluffs, as IB outscored Macomb 31-19 after the break.

A 10-5 run in the third opened up a lead while a 21-14 fourth-quarter advantage closed the door on the Bombers.

Kaitlyn Robinson would score 15 to lead Macomb while Sarah Stufflebeam added seven.

Hailey Emerick would add 10 to the Bomber cause.

Western/Pleasant Hill 34, Rushville-Industry 30

BEARDSTOWN — The Rushville-Industry girls had their run at Beardstown come to an end on Wednesday, falling to Western/Pleasant Hill 34-30.

It was a slow start for both squads as W/PH led 4-1 after a quarter.

R-I would fall behind by five at halftime, trailing 15-10.

The Rockets would cut it to three in the fourth quarter but could not come all the way back.

Aubrey Sorrell and Kaylnn Prather led the way for the Rockets, each scoring seven points.

Wanna Trone would add six in the loss.

South Fulton 34, Triopia 28

BEARDSTOWN — The Rebels were able to punch their ticket to the final day of play at the Lady Tiger Classic at Beardstown, topping Triopia 34-28 on Wednesday.

South Fulton plays Beardstown at 1:30 in the play-in consolation championship.

On Wednesday, the game was tied, 28-28 late, but South Fulton ended the game on a 6-0 run to take the win.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Rebels, who outscored Triopia 11-4 in the final quarter.

South Fulton would lead 15-5 after one, but a 19-8 Triopia run over the second and third quarters but Triopia out front.

Bel Adkins would score 10 to pace South Fulton while Tommi Gorusch would add eight and Abbie Stevenson finished with seven.

Bushnell-Prairie City at Princeville

PRINCEVILLE — The Spartan girls wrapped up play at the Princeville Holiday Tournament on Wednesday, finishing with an 0-5 record.

The Spartans started the tournament with losses to Tremont (63-39) and Elmwood (53-27) on Monday.

On Tuesday, B-PC would fall to Princeville (62-33) and Midland (35-33).

On the final day of play, the Spartans would fall to Galva (42-32)/

Elmwood would go 5-0 to win the tournament title.
